Urban Forest City @ Pantai Sentral Park

2

Inspired by nature and produced with sustainability.

The race to secure a liveable, greener and worthwhile tomorrow is well underway. Mother Earth is calling out and it is good to hear that property developers are stepping up for the better with environmentally friendly and sustainable developments. IJM Land Bhd is one of those who are taking a big step forward, and in this case, by creating a 58-acre sustainable city right next to a 200-acre forest.

As part of Pantai Sentral Park’s alluring nature-centric environment, there is a waterfront site where numerous activities like lakeside jogging, cycling and alfresco dining can be done.

The new project dubbed Pantai Sentral Park looks to become Kuala Lumpur’s first “Urban Forest City” with its main pulling point being, of course, the opportunity to live next to a 200-acre forest while still remaining connected to the city. With a mix of residential and commercial components, the development will feature six phases of condominiums along with office towers. The maiden phase of condominiums, true to the green cause, will feature a shallow floor plate design to allow for natural lighting and ventilation in every unit.  All 211 units, with built-ups from 1,100 sq ft to 1,900 sq ft, will have wide frontage and extensive themed landscaping in common areas.

Seamlessly blending modern culture with nature, the ambience alone will invigorate visitors and residents alike. This is based on Pantai Sentral Park’s three key points; community, environment and economy, a concept summed up in their core principals of “People”, “Planet” and “Priority”. These are the values that make the city a holistic one, and are realized through the city’s features.

Envisioned as Kuala Lumpur’s one and only ‘Urban Forest City’, Pantai Sentral Park is a 58-acre integrated city development that will blend with nature.

With the Kerinchi Forest acting as backdrop, the city has been planned to compliment this unique setting with refreshing green spaces, lush streetscapes, water features, sustainable architecture and green technologies. Much thought has been put into making the city a pedestrian friendly one, like the inclusion of linear parks, streetscapes to foster pedestrian access and amenities located within safe walking distances. Green connectors will be placed between the residential and commercial parcels, stretching some 350 to 400 meters – with ample space to walk, jog and have community gatherings.

With much emphasis on pedestrians, security will have to be up to par. Features like CCTV surveillance, adequate street lighting and round-the-clock guard patrols will be in place within the condominiums but on top of all these security measures, Pantai Sentral Park’s masterplan was designed in accordance to the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) approach, which entails a natural form of surveillance on top of other security measures, using design to deter criminals. This is a new approach to crime prevention and one that will also give the community itself a heightened sense of security.

A purpose-built safe environment featuring all-round pedestrian access, green connectors and boulevards.

In terms of lifestyle, residents will surely take pride living in a city with green all around. Then top that with the lake arena, a man-made body of water that adds a sense of waterfront living into the mix. And not forgetting the city’s grand entrance with lined trees and green boulevards that welcomes you home every time.

Be it for work or play, “inspiration through nature” can be experienced firsthand here. Imagine workspaces that look out to a beautiful view of the forest. No longer are you staring out into a concrete wall for inspiration, now a vast, green and living landscape, which is also home to small animals and a myriad of flora and fauna, becomes your muse.

Naturally one wouldn’t expect, being so close to nature and abundant green, Pantai Sentral Park would be strategically connected to hotspots and amenities of the city. But it is. Linked to various road networks, the city is only a few minutes’ drive to key points such as Kuala Lumpur city, Petaling Jaya, Mont’ Kiara, Mid Valley and others. Amenities found within driving distance include Mont’ Kiara International School, Garden International School, University Malaya, Tesco, Mid Valley Megamall and Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC). With the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and other highways connected to the city, everything is within reach.

A truly green city with the lifestyle to match, Pantai Sentral Park presents a rare opportunity of having a lush forest on one side and the city on the other. With space quickly running out in Kuala Lumpur, finding such a development again will be a hard, if not impossible task. The “Urban Forest City” sets a high benchmark, not only for green, but overall.
