Honeywell’s smart buildings technologies to safeguard PNB 118 Tower in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, February 5, 2018 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON), a global leader in connected buildings, today announced that it has been awarded a USD$14 million, multi-year project for the Iconic PNB 118 Tower to supply smart buildings technologies such as complete security and building management systems. Honeywell’s fully integrated solutions will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort, safety and security of the 118-story building.
The iconic landmark located within the Warisan Merdeka development is set to become the fifth tallest building in the world upon completion in 2020. PNB 118 is owned by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Berhad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), with Turner International Sdn Bhd as the project manager for the mixed-use development.
Commencing in late 2017 with completion in late 2020, the project includes the installation, testing and commissioning of Honeywell’s connected buildings systems. These technologies include: Honeywell’s ComfortPoint® Open Building Management System, Honeywell’s Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) R500, Digital Video Manager (DVM) R620, and Temaline access control system, among others. Honeywell’s solutions will help provide operational intelligence for better decision making, improve real-time response, reduce risk and operational and life cycle costs, and optimize overall building performance.
“We are excited by the opportunity to support PNB Merdeka Ventures on this mega project,” said Briand Greer, president, Honeywell ASEAN. “We have a track record of providing connected building solutions to more than 10 million buildings around the world. In Asia, we are committed to bringing together knowledge, people, and technology that turn buildings into smarter and productive assets.”
With expertise in landmark projects globally such as the Lotte Tower (Korea), Marina Bay Sands (Singapore) among others, Honeywell supports the integration of a wide range of technologies to help customers take a holistic approach to the management of the systems, which in turns help building operators make better informed business decisions. The project highlights Honeywell’s superior technology in the connected buildings space. Honeywell has been present in the Malaysia for more than four decades, where it has established its regional headquarters and is supporting the connected building industry in the country.
