Celebrating Medini with musical fiesta & entertainment extravaganza!
A uniquely curated event with something for every taste, Medini Live! 2016 is back and set to be an experience to remember for both the young and young-at-hearts! Taking place in the thriving new township of Medini in Iskandar Puteri, the event will be held at the Mall of Medini on August 27 & 28, 2016. It will feature an eclectic mix of entertaining performances, educational workshops, as well as an artisan & community bazaar, with a total of more than 50 acts and activities over the two-day period. Presented by Medini Iskandar Malaysia (MIM), Medini Live! brings together a specially-organized series of activities based on four segments, namely film, arts, music and community. MIM is committed to support creative endeavours, as this is also aligned with one of its promoted sectors, notably the creative sector. To showcase this annual event in a new urban township like Medini will bring added vibrancy to the development, whereby this event exhibits local talents in a multicultural fusion of traditional and contemporary elements.
Fans will not want to miss thrilling performances by internationally-renowned artists including Malaysian hip-hop extraordinaire Joe Flizzow, the versatile and dynamic R&B trombonist Q Sound, world-class homegrown beatboxer maestro Shazet, and the award-winning national drumline team, Batteryheadz. Popular jazz, soul & pop performers and musicians such as Sean Ghazi, Ida Mariana, Najwa Mahiaddin, Mafarikha, Az Samad, Kirsten & Kevin Theseira, Liza Hanim, Ronnie Hussein, as well as YouTube sensation Eb Duet will also be featured at Medini Live! An exclusive drumline battle between schools and colleges is also in stored.
In addition to live music and artiste performances, visitors who are enthralled by the arts should check out the various exhibitions and workshops which offer plenty of fun-filled activities such as a pop-up book workshop, a unique new library concept exhibition by SK Medini, sand art, giant bubbles, not to mention the chance to learn & play traditional village games such as congkak and batu seremban. As part of the “Merdeka & Malaysia Day” celebration, a special doodle wall will be on display featuring drawings by Johor doodle artists, complete with a session on doodling for the public. During this free-entry event, members of the public can also expect to witness social enterprise projects on display, including food trucks to satisfy culinary cravings, as well as artisan and community bazaars.
