IJM Land provided help to six underprivileged families in Seremban in preparation for Raya
Seremban, 18 June 2018 – The festive Raya season has come and gone, and the spirit of giving came in the form of providing cheer and support to the underprivileged families of Seremban, as IJM Land Berhad ran its “Program Mesra Ramadan” in helping the needy prepare the necessary to celebrate the festive Raya season. Always believing that no individuals should be neglected during festive seasons, IJM Land made it its mission to reduce the burden of six disadvantaged families who were in the midst of preparing for the Raya celebrations by providing them with monetary support, groceries and Raya cookies for a joyous celebration with their loved ones.
The IJM Land Program Mesra Ramadan team with Yang Berbahagia Puan Nicole Tan Lee Koon, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Hal Ehwal Wanita and Kebajikan, Exco & Dun Bukit Kepayang bringing Raya cheer and support to the underprivileged families of Seremban.
Dato’ Hoo Kim See, Senior General Manager of IJM Land (Central Region) said that this initiative gives the less fortunate the opportunity to celebrate a good festive season even when times are difficult for them, and to express that they are always in IJM Land’s minds to give the best that they deserve. “It is IJM Land’s dream to be able to tap into different ways in extending our hand to the community in which we are living in, and giving back to them,” said Dato’ Hoo. “Not only do we celebrate festive occasions with the community annually, our thoughts are always with the less fortunate constantly, especially during a time when they need more attention, care and love.”
The initiative was led by Dato’ Hoo and staff members of IJM Land Seremban 2, and also joined by honourable guest Yang Berbahagia Puan Nicole Tan Lee Koon, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Hal Ehwal Wanita dan Kebajikan, Exco & Dun Bukit Kepayang. Goodie bags comprising grocery items of cooking oil, rice, sugar, flour and among others were distributed to all six families (most of them being of single-parentage families) to help ease the burden of the poor families in preparing and celebrating a good Raya weekend. ‘Duit Raya’ was also distributed to families, in the effort of putting a smile on their faces during the Holy month.
One of the recipients, Puan Lailawati Bt Omar (a divorced singled mother who single-handedly cared for five kids) who had a minor stroke have been receiving a walker from IJM Land to ease and prevent her from loss of balance and avoid accident from occurring in her own home. Dato’ Hoo said that this tiny gesture from IJM Land is in line with IJM Land’s strong commitment in “Bringing Life to Ordinary Space”, elevating the standards of living and quality of life of the communities they operate in.
