Highlighting the best in home improvement and living designs at KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 October 2017 – Malaysia’s premier home design and furnishings exhibition — the Home Design and Interior Exhibition (HOMEDEC) — opened its doors to the public today for four days of home and living inspiration, as well as attractive deals at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Celebrating  its  15th   year,  this  instalment  of  the  exhibition  ties  up  with  the  inaugural  REKA  Interior Exhibition (RiX), a part of the first REKA Design Week 2017 (RDW). Running alongside HOMEDEC (Part 1) from 19-22 Oct, RiX is the country’s first curated design showcase of interior design, products and objects, which is uniquely tailored for interior designers by interior designers. RiX is the not-to-be-missed hub for design and sourcing, and the point of convergence for both design connoisseurs and professionals — interior designers, architects, developers and traders — as well as students and homeowners.

We tend to take for granted how the design of a space — whether at home or at work — affects us. Through RiX, and the REKA Design Week, we hope to promote innovative interior design products and industry services, and recognise excellence in delivery by designers,” said Ar. Chris Yap, MIID president, during the official opening ceremony this morning. “Since its inception in 2003, HOMEDEC has been inspiring homeowners with exciting themes and novel solutions to realise their dream homes, while serving as a platform for industry professionals to share ideas towards remodelling properties. Over the years we’ve strived to always surprise and entice the Malaysian public with new and exciting elements. So, with RiX held concurrently, homeowners must not miss the opportunity to see designer products, trends and new profile exhibitors here,” said Dato’ Vincent Lim, C.I.S Network president.
