What’s Next 2015?

From the publisher of homefinder, established since 2006, we are proud to bring you the second homefinder Property and Investment Exhibition.

Back from the successful first outing in August 2014, this edition of the Exhibition brings with it greater expectations and a greater showcase as it expands from just a two-day expo to a three-day fair with more booths and a larger floor space at the premier exhibition hall of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This three-day event also kicks off the property calendar for Malaysia with a host of heavyweight real estate speakers from public listed companies to the boutique entrepreneurs.

According to Eddie Tan, Managing Director of TTien Media Group Sdn Bhd, this exhibition is catered primarily to “mid to long term investors such as those who buy for their retirement income, children’s education, children’s first home to hedge against inflation, among others.”

He continues, “No one is exempted from inflationary pressures and selling property is not going to be easy compared to the last few years.” Hence the longer term horizon for both as a purchase and as an investment.

As a matter of perspective, the inaugural exhibition at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in August 2014 had chalked up several proud records, among them are:

  • More than 20,000 people visited the two-day exhibition;
  • More than 140 units of properties sold;
  • More than RM104 million in transaction value; and
  • Visitors were significantly present passed the 8pm closing time.

The numbers are a reflection of the still buoyant property market amidst the gloomy sentiment. Fast forward to now in January 2015, what will the turnout be like?

“I don’t think this can be more successful than the previous one,” says Eddie. However, “I would say it can be equally successful in its own way as every event is unique, at a different time and location. If I have to pick the distinguishing factors, I would say we have gained more experience to help us smoothen the operation.

“Secondly, our brand is more popular than before we had our first event. Last and essentially, we under promised and over delivered in the first event, and this to be repeated by all means if necessary.”

homefinder’s standing in the second installment of the exhibition grants its audience an opportunity to peek into what’s available in the market in 2015. This in essence is a window to property opportunities before the GST implementation in April this year.

As the longest Malaysian property magazine with an acute focus in delivering quality content to the market with the relevant current issues, homefinder’s presence exceeding eight exciting years continues on the floor with the myriad choices available from exhibitors stretching across Malaysia. Among them are UOB Bank Bhd, SP Setia Bhd, Tropicana Corporation Bhd, UM Land Bhd, Ekovest Bhd, Sunsuria Bhd, SPK Bhd, Hua Yang Bhd, Ken Holdings Bhd, PNB Development Sdn Bhd, Andaman Group, , Hatten Group, Leadmont Development Sdn Bhd, New Bob Group, Group First and many more.

In addition to the exhibitors, spicing up the event are powerful and exciting speakers. They include Dato’ Sri Vincent Tiew, Managing Director of the Andaman Group; Dato’ Haji Abdul Razak, Director of Group First International (M) Sdn Bhd; Stephen Tew, Director, Axis REITs Managers Bhd; Alex J Gomez, CEO of AJ Harta;  Sr Adzman Shah Mohd Ariffin, Chief Real Estate Consultant of ExaStrata Solutions Sdn Bhd; Tang Chee Meng, Chief Operating Officer of Henry Butcher Marketing Sdn Bhd; Ho Chin Soon and Ishmael Ho, Directors of Ho Chin Soon Research; Ahyat Ishak, author of Strategic Property Investor; James Chua of Executive Director of Green RE Sdn Bhd; Eric Gan, Managing Director of Conpex International Consortium Sdn Bhd; Johann Paul Gregory, Senior Vice President of Reapfield Academy Sdn Bhd; Azmall Jamaluddin, Managing Director of 3DReid International; Ng Choon Jin, Executive Director of SL Ng Tax Services Sdn Bhd; Kevin Lim, Head of Department – Project Marketing  & International Properties of Hartamas Real Estate Sdn Bhd; Arian David Gorjy, Business Development Manager of Yaran Property Group, just to name a few.
