“With the new improved public transportation network, it is timely that this MAPEX has been themed ‘Greater Connectivity for Better Affordable Living’. The newly-launched Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and other upcoming LRT/MRT projects are set to change people’s lifestyle that is to opt for public transportation as the main vehicle for travelling especially when commuting to work. Efficient public transportation will make our cities free from gridlock or at least less congested. With this in mind, we are honoured to have the Minister of Transport himself; Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai to officiate the Opening Ceremony. On behalf of the MAPEX Committee, I would like to express our appreciation to all developers who have been our loyal supporters all these years, making MAPEX the longest running and biggest property exposition of the nation. “MAPEX is BY the Developers, FOR the Developers, and OF the Developers.” Let us work together towards achieving the nation’s housing agenda.” – Y. Bhg. Datuk Ng Seing Liong, MAPEX 2017 Organizing Chairman, and REHDA Malaysia Past President & Patron.
“Efficient public transportation is of equal importance as quality housing in transforming our country into an urban nation especially as we aimed towards making the Greater Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley into the World’s Top 20 Most Livable City By 2020. Efficient public transportation does not only help to reduce traffic congestion and improved urban growth and productivity but also brings about economic spin-offs and provides more opportunities for developments such as shopping malls, residential, office buildings, etc. This is especially important in anticipation of the Greater Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley to house about 10 million residents by 2020. Quality housing is one of the major factors for socio-economic development as it reflects the success and progress of a country. Building a nation is not only about providing a safe country, but also to provide a gratified and conducive environment along with an efficient transportation network that will influence and shape the public’s welfare, productivity and development.” – Y.Bhg. Datuk Seri FD Iskandar, President of REHDA Malaysia.
“Congratulations to REHDA for their ongoing commitments in supporting the Government of Malaysia’s efforts to make home-ownership accessible to all. Themed “Greater Connectivity for Better Affordable Living”, this year’s MAPEX is indeed timely and crucial. As Minister of Transport, enhancing the nation’s connectivity through transportation networks by land, air and sea has long been a core focus. In this regard, the Ministry of Transport implemented numerous initiatives aiming to create an integrated, efficient, secure and convenient transport system for the Rakyat. After all, transit-oriented developments (TODs) have become increasingly valued. They contribute greatly to growth of any township, which in turn serves to drive our nation’s socio-economic growth. In line with this, I am pleased to note that a significant number of public transportation projects has seen successful progress and implementation over the past year.” – YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Transport, Malaysia.
