The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA) Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) will be organizing the 3-day ‘Affordable Housing Carnival’ or “Karnival Perumahan Mampu Milik” (KPMM) in conjunction with the Malaysia Property Expo (MAPEX) from 11- 13 August 2017 (10am to 7pm) at Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC), Selangor. This is also the first time REHDA Malaysia is jointly organizing its largest property exposition nationwide together with a key federal government agency. The inaugural KPMM-MAPEX exclusively caters for affordable housing as well as offers special discounts for Bumiputra homebuyers. A myriad of activities are also in stored for patrons and visitors alike during this prestige expo. Opening ceremony will be officiated by guest-of-honour YB Tan Sri Noh bin Haji Omar, Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government.
Malaysia Property Exhibition (MAPEX) 2017 is anticipated to be a special affair as the organizers will feature Bumi Mapex with maiden endorsement from the KPKT ministry. The exhibition will witness developers promoting their Bumiputra units with special offers and packages. Substantial number of Bumi lots has reportedly been sold last year with a majority being residential and commercial units. Those with Bumi eligibility are duly encouraged to purchase commercial or residential units throughout the exhibition itself. Real estate developers are also encouraged to advertise or market their Bumi properties at Bumi Mapex since public response from past events has been quite encouraging. Nonetheless, developers still find it extremely difficult to sell off their bumiputra units owing to the fundamental fact that the majority of Malaysian homebuyers generally prefer government-backed housing schemes or initiatives such as PR1MA, PPA1M and Rumah Selangorku.
