Let your imagination fly and all your wildest dreams will come true!
“Dream your dreams with your eyes closed but live your dreams with your eyes open.” – Mystic Mermaid. “Follow your dreams, transform your life!” – Paulo Coelho. Fall in love with your dreams. Make hearts discover they are alive and have dreams. Don’t be pushed by your problems; be led by your dreams…
That’s why your dreams must be much bigger than your problems if you want to succeed, even if the obstacles seem insurmountable. As such, you need to have a deep and clear understanding of the above statement in order for you to move forward toward your dreams with ease. My question is why fit in the norm when you can create your own mould? Your dream is the fuel to your fires of confidence and excitement. How much of that future do you actually see and believe, deep inside your own soul, that you will achieve?
True meaning of big dream
Who wants to live as a significant successful entrepreneur? Like any success, the very first thing you need to do so is to have a mighty big dream that will bring you to that end that can give you a purpose for your life and makes you fulfilled in the process. Naturally, people who get into the habit of dreaming big will accomplish those goals. This is because they have the appropriate mind-set and mission. You can achieve anything if you can conceive it in your mind. Then the question being asked will be, “Why you would want to settle for less if you can get more?”
It is the famous boxer Muhammad Ali who once said “Champions are not made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside themselves – a desire, a dream and a vision.” The driving force for all achievement comes from within. Just as the potential to become a tree lies within the seed, so too does the potential to become great, lie within each one of us. It is simply a matter of channelling it out.
Being entrepreneur is tough. Growing is even tougher. You need to take lots of courage to overcome fears, obstacles and unknowns. That’s why your dream must be bigger than the fears you have in order for you to make thing happen. By faithfully following your dreams, it will connect you to your inner core self. As such, your dreams must be big enough to consume you right down to your soul and bring your true authentic purpose in life. It is unlikely for you to settle for less. So, follow your inner instinct to accomplish your ultimate dreams. Congratulation to those who have done so and don’t forget that you still need to grow with it. But, for those who have not, you need to do some deep thinking, soul searching and take appropriate action in order to get there.
Your dreams will come true if you believe in them. They have a real possibility of coming true one after the other. In short, if you are a big dreamer, you’ll achieve big dreams. Strong belief in yourself coupled with those big dreams, followed by your appropriate action will make you a success. These universal principles applied to entrepreneurship as well. “The purpose of any business is to profitably create experiences that are so compelling to customers that their loyalty is assured.” – Scott McKain.
By doing so, you will be opened to all possibilities by opening more doors you could ever thought possible. You’ll encounter lots and loads of excitements and frustrations because you are venturing into unknown, uncomfortable and unpredictable zones you may have not entered before. That is why you need your big dreams to pull you to the maximum limits and keep your enterprise alive and continuously growing. You need to have a strong stamina to sustain both excitement and frustration. You may even end up achieving more than you ever thought possible. For example, you might reach a crossroad where you are considering whether to get a job in any of your chosen field or start an enterprise in that field. The job is a safe bet with probably limited salary. Whereas the enterprise is the “big dream” that can provide fulfilment, satisfaction apart from the lucrative financial potential. You will be personally fulfilled through your achievements by your hard work and commitment.
In summary, mighty big dreams give you the opportunity to deliver breakthrough results that put your mark on the world. This is because it is the appropriate thing to do for the world. Big dreams are the reasons why the world changes for the better. It’s the reason why there have been so many great inventions, and cures for diseases, etc. So, go for dreams that will keep you up late and get you up early. A big dream has more pulling power. Go for a dream that will give you excitement, enjoyment and lasting pleasure when you achieve it.
Clarity to realize your dreams
Think of yourself as on the threshold of unparalleled success. A whole, clear, glorious life lies before you. Achieve! Achieve! Achieve! Clarity means being crystal clear on what it is that you want. Clarity is the fuel for the business growth process. To achieve big goals you can’t have doubts. Doubts surface once you are unsure of what you are trying to achieve, and clarity helps remove them. So how do you get clarity? Clarity comes from getting to know from the appropriate perspective; your true self, what you are best at and how you impact peoples’ lives. This may look simple, but at time its cycle may be very frustrating and prevent you from moving forward if you can’t really resolve it.
As simple as all this may seem or sound, I know that it is definitely not from my own personal experience. Clarity has been something that I have been struggling with all my life till now. However, I have achieved those things that I knew deeply and did not doubt; it is interesting to note that clarity always matters regardless of its size, if I want it to materialise. I was very clear at a young age that I wanted to be an accountant. Given the fact that I was the son of poor and illiterate parents in Penang, this seemed nearly impossible. This desire I had, drove me to constantly seek out opportunities to make it happens despite I had worked as Laboratory Assistant with World Health Organization after my Malaysian Certificate Examination. By the time I was 26, I was living in Selangor working as an Assistant Accountant. It was a dream, almost beyond imagination, comes true.
My experience thought me that I could make whatever happens if I set my mind to it. You would think then that I would have no doubts about my abilities. But this isn’t true. I reckon there’s a great difference between confidence and clarity, and I need both to succeed. Even if you have the utmost confidence, but if you don’t know what it is you want to achieve, it will not work. There is no ending process in exercising your confidence and finding clarity in order to create your dreamed life. It’s a lifelong journey of new goals and challenges, and the more you get in touch with what’s appropriate for you and let the clarity of your goal pull you to overcome whatever obstacles that holds you back. Don’t deny yourself one of the key ingredients in achieving your dreams. It is much more difficult to push over than to pull over.
As such, it is critically important for you to see clearly; your mighty dream; the clearer, the better. This is because its power is much greater. You can make it happen provided you can conceive it with absolute clarity in your mind. To make it materialise, you must be able to manifest and visualise it externally with as much clarity as possible. You need to have faith to pursue it even if it is initially not very clear, as you keep going until it crystalize at the end of it. One very good example is the initial process of invention of the airplane. The more you engrossed in your dream, the more motivation it will create. Look for the magic in, and then beyond, your dream. Notice and enjoy the process, and have a true sense of gratitude. Nurture your wonderment and the magic of your dreams will bear ever more fruit. “Your vision will become clear only when you look in to your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.” – Carl Jung.
Core competencies
Some of you may heard of the “10,000 hour rule” by Malcolm Gladwell in ‘The Story of Success’ as the time a person needs to become adept at any skill. As you keep doing the core following the 80 and 20 % rule, you may focus on the core of 20 % for you to achieve the overall 80%. Deliberate practice will no doubt not make you perfect, but you will make permanent progress. By repeating this process, you will benefit with its power, that you will eventually become so good in it. However, it is definitely true that if you are natural at something, you will progress a lot more faster in that particular line of work. To excel in that particular chosen field, you need to constantly hone your competencies through life-long learning, unlearning and relearning. Passion, patience and perseverance will empower you to make your mighty big dream happen. What would you image if the dream is align with your life purpose? Of course the outcome will be even amazingly incredible. Fortunately, I took up my courage to pursue my other dream to be indulged in the online content writer at my late forty. I have begun to see the light from the tunnel after a short span of couple of years. Since then, I never regret what I have done and strongly believe it is a calling from the above.
Concentration
“Here is the prime condition of success, the great success,” said Carnegie. Concentrate your energy, thought, and capital exclusively upon the business in which you are engaged. Having begun in one line, resolve to fight it out on that line, to lead in it; adopt every improvement, have the best machinery, and know the most about it. The root cause of many failures in enterprise is lack of concentration. Attention is like a searchlight; when its beam is spread over a vast area, its power to focus on a particular object becomes weak, but focused on one thing at a time, it becomes powerful. So, focus on one thing until it is successful.
Great men are men of concentration. They put their whole mind on one thing at a time. By concentration, you may disengage your attention from objects of distraction and focus it upon one thing at a time. Through its power, man can unleash his mind power to accomplish what he desires and safe guard all doors of failure from entering. Self-discipline is demanded for you to acquire full concentration so as to accomplish the goal of achieving long lasting sustainable growth for your chosen enterprise while having a significant impact and influence to the society and world as a whole. “In the search for your destiny, you will often find yourself obliged to Change direction.” – Paulo Coelho. To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe. Are you ready? Why not? Enjoy your journey if you have done so.
