United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand) officially opened the UMLand Medini Lakeside Gallery today to showcase its UMCity masterplan, which features projects like UMCity Medini Lakeside and Viridea @ Medini Lakeside. The opening of the gallery also reflects the Group’s confidence in the continuing growth of the Malaysian property sector. The Grand Launch of the Gallery was officiated by YB Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, Chairman of Tourism, Trade and Consumer Affairs of Johor State, who represented YAB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, the Menteri Besar of Johor. Also present at the ceremony were YBhg Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman of UMLand; YBhg Dato’ Ng Eng Tee, Executive Deputy Chairman of UMLand and Dato’ Daniel Chan, Group Director, Property Development (Niche), Real Estate Management, UMLand. “UMLand has been part and parcel of the Johor property landscape for close to three decades, and we are also a pioneer developer in Iskandar Malaysia. The opening of our Medini Lakeside Gallery is a significant milestone for our Group as we continue to expand our presence in this vibrant and fast-growing State. Our vision for Medini Lakeside is anchored by two UMLand developments, namely UMCity Medini Lakeside and Viridea @ Medini Lakeside. Instead of developing standalone projects on this site, we have taken the effort to plan it in a way that will set new benchmarks in the property sector not only in Iskandar Malaysia but internationally. Given the waterfront element of Medini Lakeside, our masterplan takes its cue from the lush tropical and marine environment while being inspired by sustainable features such as water management and water-sensitive urban developments. We are confident that our vision for Medini Lakeside will resonate well with local and international property buyers and investors alike and the Gallery will become the focal point to showcase Iskandar Malaysia and Johor as a destination of choice for investments, business and contemporary living.” – Dato’ Daniel Chan, Group Director, Property Development (Niche) & Real Estate Management.
Driven by an aspiration to invigorate the 13 acre central lake of the development, we plan to cultivate and rejuvenate the lake into a landscaped lake park ideal for various fauna and man-made structures to co-exist with recreational elements. For this we engaged renowned consultant AECOM to lead the design process. The lake is primed to become a natural ecosystem providing water quality improvement, bank stability, wildlife habitat and recreational uses. The design of the lake will allow residents to experience a unique and integrated experience for work, play and relaxation fit all walks of life especially families. The lake will also provide the perfect backdrop to the residential and commercial elements of the UMLand Medini Lakeside enhanced with Lakeside Retail and Lakefront Shops.
Built with a modern and contemporary concept, the UMLand Medini Lakeside Gallery maximizes natural lighting with its glasshouse design, giving guests an unparalleled view of the entire development. Guests are greeted by a lush landscape, allowing them to experience first-hand living in UMCity Medini Lakeside and Viridea @ Medini Lakeside. The Gallery is anchored by a Linear Park, which sits in between both developments. Within the Gallery itself, guests will be able to experience the show units for Viridea @ Medini Lakeside’s SOHO units and its serviced residences as well as show units for Shama Medini.
