IJM Land lighting up the lives of five underprivileged families in Seremban for Deepavali
Seremban, 5 November 2018 – The festive season is around the corner, and IJM Land Berhad has made it their mission to provide support and extend joyfulness to five underprivileged families in Seremban by organizing “Deepavali Charity Cheer” Programme, lending a helping hand to unfortunate families in preparing for the upcoming festival. In conjunction with the “Festival of Lights” celebration, IJM Land hopes to instill awareness that the needful should not be forgotten during joyful occasions by reaching out and spreading compassion and goodwill among underprivileged families – providing them with monetary support and groceries in the hopes of making a positive difference in their lives.

Dato’ Hoo Kim See, Senior General Manager of IJM Land (Central Region) said that we are surrounded by those in need of our attention, support and kindness, therefore this initiative allows the less fortunate to come along as one family and celebrate this festive occasion without worries. “At IJM Land, it is our responsibility to provide our community with the necessities we can provide during this festive season, and we are here to make a positive impact in the lives of the needy,” said Dato’ Hoo. “Celebrations need not be confined in our own homes, consequently we gather annually with the less fortunate to celebrate festive occasions, mainly in the efforts to spread happiness among single-parent families.”
The initiative was led by Dato’ Hoo and staff members of IJM Land Berhad, and also joined by honorable guest Yang Berhormat Tuan Arul Kumar A/L Jambunathan, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Bertindak Sumber Manusia, Perladangan dan Hal Ehwal Bukan Islam, Exco & Adun Nilai. Goodie bags comprising grocery items of rice, milk, cooking oil, flour, cookies and others were distributed to all five families to lessen their burden in preparation of Diwali celebration. On the other hand, a sum of donation was handed over to each family in attempt to ignite smiles on their faces during the Festival of Lights. One of the recipients, Ms Mariamma who suffers from memory loss received monetary help from IJM Land to lessen her mother’s burden in providing her and her family with the essential well-being. Additionally, IJM Land also contributed assistance to another recipient Mr. Jakumar, a single father as well as beneficiary of last year’s Home Rehabilitation Programme by keeping his house well-maintained and providing his children with proper shelter.
Dato Hoo’ explained that helping the needy isn’t only about providing donations or money, but to also understand the background they come from and nevertheless still support them in the slightest way possible. “IJM Land is dedicated and constantly strives to improve the well-being of the community by initiatives as such, allowing us to work towards betterment of the society and making it a better place to live,” said Dato’ Hoo. “We hope to light up the lives of these families, and to give them some hope and respite from their less fortunate lives – giving every family a chance to move towards a better future.” For more information on the above initiative, please log on to: http://seremban2.ijmland.com/
