Held at home, the SMART Investments & International Property Expo was participated by no less than 30 organizations from across the region showcasing everything from real estate to art investments.
Thailand and Malaysia had the largest contingents followed by the UK, US, Australia, Cape Verde, China, India, Indonesia and Japan.
The Malaysian flag bearers were IJM Land Bhd, UEM Land Bhd, Guocoland (Malaysia) Bhd, SP Setia Bhd, The Haven Sdn Bhd and GD Development Sdn Bhd.
Show stealers this time were none other than the local estate oracles Shih Wing Ching and Sherman Lai, Centaline Group’s Founder and Chairman respectively.
Other than the usual insights, trends and market forecasts, they also shared about the peculiar-norm of property investments.
For instance, property prices move in tandem with the buyers it attracts where the more the buyers it garners, the more the price appreciates regardless of size, type and location.
Another is a rather straight forward and unassuming answer to a seemingly complex question. “I can’t seem to work out the price that piece of property commands.”
And master Shih answers simply, “Then you ought to let those who can work it out to invest because in life, we can’t decipher everything.”
