Kuala Lumpur, 8 May 2012 – UOA Development Bhd (UOA)announced today that it has engaged Frasers Hospitality Pte Ltd, to manage the premium floors of the currently under construction Camellia Serviced Suites, a residential cum hotel residence project located within the integrated development of Bangsar South – UOA’s flagship mixed use development. This business engagement marks UOA’s first collaboration with an international hospitality operator in its foray into the hotel residence sector.

The 34-storey Camellia Serviced Suites comprises 720 units with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of approximately RM500 million and is slated for completion by mid 2013.

The premium floors from Level 22 to Level 31 consisting 240 units will be managed by Frasers under a boutique hotel residence concept – Capri by Fraser – complemented by two exclusive rooftop levels of recreational and business facilities. Guests to the hotel residence can expect a unique chill-out experience with amenities of a 4-star hotel in addition to the comfort, convenience and informality of staying at home – where they will have the option of cooking and doing their own laundry – for both business and leisure. The accommodation options will range from studios to spacious three bedroom suites.

A key feature of the hotel residence will be its creative high-tech chilled-out vibe, which will be reflected with its iPad activated check-ins that do away with formal paperwork to coordinate every aspect of the guest’s stay. “We are very excited to form a strategic alliance with Frasers, one of the highly regarded international-branded hotel residence management companies in the region.

This collaboration is a testament to our strong relationship with Frasers that is built upon mutual trust and admiration for our respective business practices and company cultures,” said David Khor, UOA’s Chief Operating Officer – Development. “By engaging Frasers, we are confident in our concerted effort to successfully deliver a unique lifestyle concept to suit the discerning needs of today’s urban population,” he added.

Choe Peng Sum, Frasers’ Chief Executive Officer said, “The opening of the first Capri by Fraser in Malaysia is significant, not only because it further extends our presence in the country but also marks the launch of an exciting new hotel residence concept by Frasers, which reaffirms our confidence in the country’s strong growth potential.”

One of the highly sought after addresses in Kuala Lumpur for today’s urbanites who appreciate stylish suburban living within a dynamic cityscape, Bangsar South is a 60 acre fully integrated residential cum commercial enclave that stands apart from the rest with its central location, excellent internet and transport connectivity plus a host of retail, service and recreational facilities.

And with the awarding of the MSC Malaysia Cybercentre status, this new enclave is seamlessly connected to achieve perfect harmony in the way the community live, work and play.
