“To build a flourishing business you must first build your team” – John Autelitano, General Manager of Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa
“To build a flourishing business you must first build your team,” says John. “Every one of our employees understands the crucial role they play in providing the ultimate guest experience. And they continuously exceed our guests’ expectations, not just with superior service but also with their enthusiasm. This is reflected in our large number of repeat guests,” he adds. What is the most precious resource for award-winning Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, Kuala Lumpur? The answer, says its newly appointed General Manager, John Autelitano, is its employees.
John, an Australian-born Italian, came onboard, first as the Hotel Manager and then as Acting General Manager prior to assuming his current position in late June this year. He has 17 years of successful business entrepreneurship and 18 years of hospitality experience in his career portfolio.
As a luxury tier hospitality executive, John’s philosophy, principles and practices were garnered while working for renowned hotel chains The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott International, in Asia Pacific, The Caribbean and the United States of America.
He is passionate about his craft and his team. And since joining Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, his enthusiastic and results-oriented leader has taken the hotel’s quality service to world-class levels. While he takes a humanistic approach, laced with a good sense of humour, John believes an effective leader’s legacy is not about their personality, but what he or she leaves behind for the company and their staff.
With all the changes and expansions taking place at Sunway, both within the Sunway Integrated Resort City and internationally, the company provides exciting opportunities for staff to grow and prosper professionally.
“At Sunway we are all about training and creating sustainable leadership. It is an honour to be leading the Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa team, as we focus on turning vision into reality at this exciting time in the company’s life,” he adds.
Apart from focussing on guest experience through service excellence, John has also played a key role in overseeing upgrading of products and facilities like the Presidential Suite, swimming pool and its surroundings as well as the latest addition to its culinary offerings – Fuzion– the hotels’ all-day cafe.
