It was another historic moment and milestone for St. Joseph’s Institution International School Malaysia (“SJII Malaysia”) as it unveiled its first International Baccalaureate Scholarship Programme (“SJII IB Scholarship”) in Malaysia. Recently held at the Tropicana Golf & Country Club, SJII IB Scholarship received two generous donations of RM1.5 million respectively from the Tropicana Foundation – a charity organization formed by Tropicana Corporation Berhad (“Tropicana”) as well as Lasallian Asian Partnerships for International Schools (“LAPIS”).

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Danny Tan, Founder & Advisor of Tropicana Foundation and Tropicana Corporation Berhad later presented a mock cheque to Brother Thomas Lavin (“Brother Thomas”), the Brother President of SJII Malaysia whilst LAPIS was represented by Mr. Michael Sng, Director of LAPIS and Chairman & Board of Governors of SJII Malaysia. Tropicana is also a corporate partner of SJII Malaysia and has been instrumental in the construction of the campus. The scholarship will also provide full board and lodging, as well as some basic expenses for students living outside Klang Valley.

Applicants are expected to provide evidence of good academic performance and to demonstrate active participation & leadership in co-curricular activities. Dateline for applications will close on Friday, 19 February 2016 and scholarship tests will take place on Saturday, 27 February 2016. Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a selection interview in March 2016.
