Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. GreenCity opens its doors for new green opportunities.

GreenCity International College (GreenCity) and Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 22 March at the GreenCity College Campus in Jalan Gereja, Kuala Lumpur. Dr Nazily Mohd Noor, GreenTech CEO and Lily Ong, GreenCity CEO were present at the event.

GreenCity commits to “green” their courses by implementing modules and program focused on the green jobs market as businesses move to the new green reality.

GreenCity Ambassador, Matthias “The Green Man” Gelber was also present as GreenCity and GreenTech announced a new Green Man Green Scholarship Fund with over RM1 million in scholarships to be offered to students in 2012. More than 100 students from all around the world will have the opportunity to have half their course fees covered by the scholarship. In addition, GreenCity is also offering RM1 million in scholarships via the GreenCity Single Mothers Fund and another RM1 million scholarship available for general students.

Kho Guan Khai, Program Director from GreenCity said, “We feel very strongly that education is the only way to help people, young and old, to improve their lives and the lives of their families. By offering these scholarships, particularly the Green Man Green Scholarship Fund, we are proud to be part of helping future generations to live better lives.”

From the green man Matthias, “I am proud to be part of the new green education services to be offered by GreenCity, and as their brand Ambassador, I look forward to helping to change many young lives for the better. The opportunities for young people (and the rest of us) in the new green economy, for jobs, for business and for a better world, are enormous.”

Dr Nazily stated, “This collaboration is part of government’s initiatives to accelerate the growth of green education and knowledge expansion amongst the young generation towards achieving the high creation of green jobs. In 2020, the government targets to develop more than 300,000 green jobs.”

Kolej Antarabangsa Greencity was formerly known as Kolej Antarabangsa Oren. They offer green technology and environmental courses, waste management, environmental history and related topics.
