The Bumiputera Expo (BPEX) 2012.
The Bumiputera Expo (BPEX) 2012 held on 13 to 15 April showcased more than 4,000 Bumiputera units in and around the Klang Valley, worth approximately RM2.3 billion. BPEX was held at the Mid Valley Convention Center where people were welcomed without any charges.
As many as 50 developers took part in the exhibition, with names such as Glomac, PKNS, IJM Land, SPNB, MK Land and Glenmarie Properties showcasing their developments.
The exposition gives Malaysians the chance to own a home through the “My First Home Scheme” that was implemented by the government where buyers are entitled for a 100% loan on homes worth RM220,000 and below.
Even with the rising prices of properties, government efforts like “My First Home Scheme” and property development schemes like “PR1MA” are aimed to helped young adults to own a home with moderate costs according to BPEX Organizing Chairman, Shikin Taib.
Shikin also added that developers should take more serious initiatives in promoting the Bumiputera units as it may trigger the release mechanism. More marketing and promotion for the Bumiputera should be considered, says Shikin, as they are the largest segment of the Malaysian population.
High-end properties were also on showcase at BPEX; where people can pick locations and quality according to their affordability range. Home concepts of today that are more leaning towards safety and green aspects to add-value to their property.
