It was a bright and cheery Hari Raya Aidil Fitri for Aminah Mior and her family when their home was given a coat of new paint in anticipation of the Hari Raya celebration.
Aminah’s family was the first to have their home in Taman Prima Selayang made-over under the Nippon Paint Colors of Life program, which aims to promote family development.
“My family and I are very happy to be chosen as part of the Colors of Life program. I really like it very much. I don’t know how to describe how happy I am, but my family really enjoys spending time together in this beautiful living hall,” said a beaming Aminah.
Based on a holistic approach towards family development, Nippon Paint Colors of Life is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by Nippon Paint Malaysia. They have partnered with the Persatuan Kebajikan Generasi Gemilang (PKGG), a not-for-profit welfare organization, which aims to provide a conducive environment to promote family bonding within homes by transforming both the physical environment and mindset.
“The family is the core of a social structure. By helping to create a more welcoming and nurturing home atmosphere, we hope to encourage families to spend more time together, which will help build a stronger family bond and help develop values.”
“The warmth and comfort of a home is the foundation of a happy family, a united community, and a successful nation,” says Jason Ho, Nippon Paint (M) Sdn Bhd’s Assistant General Manager for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs.
Utilizing its expertise in paint and color, Nippon Paint is making over 12 homes in Taman Prima Selayang, including single parent homes with monthly household incomes below RM1,000 over the next six months.
Concurrently, PKGG is conducting programs that strengthen family relationships and character development programs for children to ensure a well-rounded initiative.
The Nippon Paint Colors of Life program is part of paint expert’s CSR focused on community building, a key component in its commitment to improving lives with the use of color.
